Line Marking Do’s and Don’ts

Everyday more and more people are learning to drive and get out onto the public roads. It is the government’s responsibility to input the safety regulations into the correct places. However, it is our job as a line marking company to ensure that these safety precautions are integrated correctly. Not only on the roads but in warehouses, pedestrian pathways and lots more. The visibility of line markings on our roads is extremely important. Here we have some top tips for line marking.

Do

  • Prep the Surface – First of all you need to make sure to prepare the surface that is going to be line marked. Of course, when you are line marking on a road it can be quite difficult to prepare the surface. Ideally the surface should be cleared of debris, mud, grease, sand, rocks, anything that could cause the paint to be disrupted. If the surface is clear then the markings are likely to last longer. It is also important to make sure that the surface is completely dry before beginning the line marking.
  • Sprinklers – If you happen to be line marking a field or near any sort of grassy arear that may have sprinklers you need to make sure that they have been turned off. They should be turned off at least two days before you begin the project. This is so you can be sure that the area is dry and ready for you to begin marking.

Line Marking Tips You Will Not Want to Forget

Don’t

  • Spellings When it comes to line marking there are a lot of things that are to be expected and not expected. For example the forecast could say sunny and then that day it might rain. However, there are things that we like to plan for, spellings for example. There have been many instances where we have seen line marking being spelled wrongly on our roads. Getting the spelling wrong is not something we do here at Tstar Linemarking and is an element of line marking we fail to see how it can go wrong so we advise you check the spelling before you begin the project.
